Cabana has finally reached out of the big smoke and landed in to the laps of Leeds.
With the emergence of all you can eat Brasilian Barbecues it's nice to find somewhere that wants to serve... well Brazilian barbecue but this time will no green and red paddles or £40 per head bills. (Unless you order a ton of sides).
I was lucky enough to be invited to their sneak preview the night before they opened. A very well put together event, it certainly put many others I have been to to shame. The place wasn't overly crowded and there was plenty of food and drink to go around. I left having only eaten canapes feeling trouser tight full and slight tipsy from the amount of Brazilian beer and cocktails that was placed before me.
I have no issues with canapés when they are plentiful as they help you try a sample of more than one dish, something you can't do a sit down meal with out hoping everyone on your table orders something different and proceed to pester them in to letting you try their food. I tried a good range of Cabana's food and I already have my favourites.
I didn't take a picture of everything I ate, I just got a bit too carried away eating it all, but here are a few pictures to give you a tiny hint of what they might have on offer.
Bucket of slightly addictive sweet potato fries (no floppy sogginess in sight)
Did I mention they plied me with booze?
Brazilian beer number one
Brazilian beer number two
Ummm... same again...
Then at the end of the night to sweeten me up a little more I got a free sauce to take home!
Honestly, it really was free I didn't just steal it, I'm offended that even crossed your minds.
It's sweet and spicy, not too spicy and I used this saucy goodness the day after as dipping sauce for my homemade chicken goujons and it was lahvally.
Definitely on the 'hit soon' list, and I can't wait.
I'll report back soon.
