Another groupon deal and another restaurant not previously on my radar introduced to me.
This deal offered a pizza and a drink for two for a small price (I can't remember the exact price as I bought it months ago and left it to the last minute to use it - plus it's useless information to you anyway because it is no longer on living social/groupon).
Primo Ristorante is not to be confused with Primos hotdogs in the Corn Exchange. This Primos is an Italian/Mediterranean restaurant located near Wellington street along the same square edge as Lazy Lounge. Their doors open at lunch times, closing in the 'in between' and re opening for evening meals.
I booked myself and CBB a table for 6pm right when they opened.. We wandered for a bit after work and then decided it was too cold and wandered over to the restaurant early.
We didn't have to wait long before we were escorted to the main dining area and we were then seated towards the side. Our side seating gave us perfect views of the special boards, although people in the booths would struggle to see.
Now settled at our second table of the night with our house red and house white (part of the deal) we chose our pizzas.
I was struggling to decide on one pizza as so many appealed, when the waiter returned I asked for his opinion and he said to go for the Tricolore. The Tricolore toppings consist of Parma ham, Parmesan shavings, a drizzle of truffle oil and rocket leaves.
As you can see above it looks amazing, and I'm glad to report it tasted amazing too. There wasn't too much truffle oil to make it sickly or greasy and the rocket added a nice peppery crunch.
CBB decided upon the Americana which is topped with pepperoni chilli and red onions.
Again another great looking pizza. CBB is only small so struggled to finish it off but was as pleased as I was with her pizza.
Once we had finished and our plates cleared we were asked if we would like to see the dessert menu... As stuffed as we were we decided to 'just have a look'.
However once we saw the hot chocolate brownie on there we simply couldn't resist! I'm glad we shared this as I most certainly couldn't have finished a whole one myself.
The brownie was piping hot when served and the icecream was the perfect accompaniment as it enabled us to balance the temperatures and wolf it down.
I took a picture of the cutlery at this point because as I thought the spoon was slightly unique. Perfect for scooping sauces.
It was very quiet when we visited but we were early diners, and it was also the middle of the week. I'm sure it's position near large businesses will ensure it's busy during midweek lunches however it may be quieter on weekends. It would suggest so as they are closed on Sundays.
